Technical Writer - Permanent - Berkshire
Technical Writer /Software / Documentation / IT / 2:1 Degree Minimum

Experienced Technical Writer required for a fantastic permanent opportunity with a world leading communications technology provider in Berkshire. The client's core services are Contact Centres, Machine-to-Machine, Payment Services and Conferencing.

Joining our clients Technical writing team you will be responsible for producing and managing technical documentation for their international client base and performing internal and external training sessions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a range of technical writing projects, liaising with and driving the appropriate technical and business project stakeholders to converge all relevant information into documentation
  • Organise and run engaging training sessions for both internal and external audiences in the UK and abroad
  • Act as a Project Manager for external projects within the experience of the Technical Writer when required
  • Develop, apply, maintain and continuously improve technical documentation best practices and standards to continue and enhance the company's excellent international reputation
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality technical documentation for Redwood's products including hardware products, OEM products, software products and system products to support our global client base
  • Assist with the documentation of higher-level Marketing materials as required to support both tactical and strategic opportunities
  • Assist with the documentation procedural manuals such as the Quality Manual in order to help propagate and uphold the company's best practices and high quality standards
  • Maintain an awareness of the Company's policies, practices and standards as documented in the Quality System, and to conduct work in accordance with these policies, practices and standards
  • Maintain an awareness of market developments relating to multi-channel communications.

    Essential skills required:
  • Have a strong educational background with a degree (2.1 and above) in an Engineering, Computer Science or IT disciple, and a BBB and above at A-levels
  • Working experience in technical writing of software documentation
  • Be hard working, ambitious and eager to acquire new skills
  • Have strong working experience of performing training sessions
  • Must have the relevant documentation to work in the UK on a permanent basis
  • Must be able to pass a Disclosure Scotland basic security check
  • Must have a full UK driving license and access to a car for travel
  • Excellent oral and written skills with
  • Good level of IT/Computer literacy
  • Strong management and timekeeping skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
