We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical trainer to join a successful Development and Implementation training programme. The role will require the creation, development and delivery of a programme of courses/workshops intended to develop graduates and young professionals into introductory IT professionals within roles such as: Software Developers, Data Engineers, Technical Authors and Test Analysts.

As a trainer - you will be involved in the development and delivery of a full range of training materials as well as designing and producing training guides. You will deliver all forms of training (one-to-one, small groups) and carry out training needs analysis, as well as identifying new training areas.

Job brief

We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Trainer to educate people in Software Development and later moving in to Test Analyst and other roles.

Technical trainers must be extremely knowledgeable in their field of expertise and possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally, we expect you to be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way. You must have industry experience in the field of Java software development and be able to communicate industry concepts to young people who only have University experience.

Industry experience is more important than mentoring/training skills.

It would be an advantage if you have experience of Business Analysis techniques such as requirements gathering, UML and producing BRD's, including the tools used in these areas and Test Analysis techniques and tools.

The goal is to contribute to the development of the individuals technical/IT skills to meet client needs.


  • To mentor/train the candidates in the areas of Development & Implementation
  • To make recommendations to the team for the improvement and update of all the programmes
  • To ensure behavioural skills are maintained and supported at all times
  • To communicate problems/barriers to the Training Manager
  • To ensure all administration tasks are completed in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work as part of a team that is split between London and Manchester
  • Ability to work on own, with the support of the team and the Training Manager
  • Desire to learn and branch into other area of the Training Programme



  • Proven industry experience in business related Java and/or C# Software Development
  • Degree educated in Computer Science or other IT related subjects
  • Demonstrable programming ability with in-depth understanding of underpinning techniques software construction
    • Able to demonstrate generic Programming Fundamentals, Development Techniques and Development Tools
    • Builds, modifies, reviews and analyses software systems through code development, testing, debugging and documentation. Performs complex product design, systems analysis and programming activities.
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfortable working with young people
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Be available to make trips to the London office as necessary
  • Be available to make trips to client sites as necessary


  • Industry experience of other Object Orientated Programming Languages
  • Industry experience or good knowledge of Business Analysis tools and techniques
  • Understanding of software testing and techniques. Development and execution of application tests including unit, integration, system, regression and performance
  • Industry experience of DevOps tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of modern training tools and techniques in technical subjects
  • Experience in designing and developing technical course content
  • Working knowledge of SFIA
  • Degree in a relevant technical field
