Technical Support Manager - Nottingham - £45k - £50k + Benefits

Job summary:
My Client is looking for an experienced people manager with a technical background to manage a team of highly skilled systems engineers. The right candidate will also have experience of networking and voice systems. You will be responsible for providing technical direction, driving incident management resolution, guiding and developing the team and delivering first class customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will have a strong systems technical background with experience of systems management, networking, voice products and strong management experience.
Ideally you will have led a similar team and have an understanding of ITIL practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service are essential.
Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead and develop the team.
  • Deliver service excellence measured by customer feedback.
  • Ensure team productivity is maximised and that all department KPI targets are achieved.
  • Provide support and assistance to team members and customers on escalated incidents managing these through to resolution.
  • Act as part of the Major Incident team to deliver an efficient recovery of service minimising downtime for our customers.
  • Attend customer meetings when requested to provide technical input and to own the technical elements of any SIP or CSIP.
  • Motivate and encourage team performance and exceed expectations wherever possible

Ideal candidate:

  • An approachable demeanor, and someone who is comfortable communicating both at a technical and non-technical level
  • An experienced people manager, with demonstrable experience of leading and developing a team of technically skilled people
  • Ability to explain and resolve complex technical issues clearly to non-technical people
  • Able to lead and direct multiple workstreams ensuring all interested parties are kept informed of progress
  • Able to use initiative for incident resolution

Minimum qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Previous experience in leading a technical team
  • Microsoft MCSA/MCSE
  • VMWare VCA
  • ITIL foundation
  • Defining and managing teams to KPIs
  • Demonstrable experience of troubleshooting complex issues across multiple teams
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft operating systems
  • Experience of administering and maintaining infrastructure systems
  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLAN
  • Understanding of Virtualisation products (VMWare, Hyper-V)
  • Azure & 365 knowledge
  • Security administration (VPN, remote access)

  • Mitel qualification
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Understanding of technical security practices
  • Experience of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Experience or understanding of Office 365 and Microsoft SaaS products
  • Experience with scripting and or automation
