Technical Project Manager required by our leading client in Hayes Middlesex

We are looking for a Project Manager with experience delivering Cloud projects and knowledge of datacenter technologies.

Cloud / Infrastructure / Prince / PMP / ITIL / Datacenter / VMware / Storage / IPA

This person will be responsible for a wide variety of IT Projects covering all areas of the Global Business and internal IT Department. This will include managing the full lifecycle of complex multi stream projects from requirements gathering through development, testing, training and handover to business as usual.
You will be a specialist in running IT Infrastructure Projects, in particular transitions from traditional on-premise platforms to cloud based services.


Service Delivery
Our client is undergoing changes and the roles and responsibilities of its current resources are being adapted to meet the new business needs. Such is the rate of change our customers may request services which may not be part of the standard offerings. As such your role will be to capture these requirements, work with the Datacenter to implement the new request as a standard service that we can offer to other customers which is fully supported as per the ITIL framework.
Roles & Responsibilities

  • Strong, technically minded individual who has the ability to operate at the detailed level as well as the higher project level.
  • Liaising with technical teams, senior delivery & support managers and operational testing teams to ensure the appropriate testing sign off can be provided in a coordinated manner.
  • Planning technical delivery aspects of the project implementation into the respective data centers
  • Requirement gathering and analysis, documenting and process mapping for the purpose of implementation of a quality solution
  • Oversee all milestones related to infrastructure, hardware and software deliverables and integration
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the project are delivered on time and within budget
  • Manage multiple initiatives and projects across various UK and Global locations in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensure the proposed solution meets all technical and datacenter requirements. Validating designs and providing feedback to the architects.
  • Full Project Management responsibility from project initiation to operational acceptance sign-off.
  • Responsible for all communications within the project build teams to Project manager and datacenter management. Will also be required to communicate with customer.
  • Will require customer facing skills
  • Issues and Risks identification, mitigation and resolution
  • Manage the projects and its associated tasks through the Change Control Process
  • Production and maintenance of Project Plan and Budgets
  • Interaction with senior management and business stakeholders
  • Setting and managing expectations.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging industry practices.
  • Experience of working as a Service Delivery Manager in a Hybrid cloud based using the ITIL framework
  • A good level of business awareness and commercial acumen


Skills Required

  • Experienced IT Project Manager with relevant qualifications either PMP / Prince 2 Certified and ITIL.
  • Applicant will need strong organizational skills with many stakeholders to manage between the various teams and datacenter groups. Planning skills are extremely important to this role.
  • Strong technical knowledge will be required to keep close to detail in helping to resolve any issues during implementation. Must be able to work well in a crisis and be comfortable working in a role where a lot of trust is placed in the delivery of the deployments.
  • Must have worked in a similar role and implementation experience must be clearly shown. Applicant should be comfortable working with and managing resources based across different locations and from multiple sources (both internal and from external suppliers).
  • Applicant will have a solid technical understanding in order to be able to ensure that the solution meets both customer and datacenter requirements, applicant will need to be comfortable having technical conversations and know when to ask questions.
  • Experience of managing and delivery of infrastructure & IT projects.
  • Experience of delivering new technology across multiple geographical locations
  • Experience of forming, and resource planning requirements, for technical delivery teams
  • Strong governance and reporting skills including managing costs and concise reporting to senior stakeholders verbally and in documentation
  • Knowledge of datacenter technologies such as networks, Storage, VMware ; IBM Blade Center ; Active Directory, IPA, PCI etc.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and comfortable working with colleagues in remote locations
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and perform well under pressure
  • Knowledge of service transition principles into BAU support
  • High level of communication, interpersonal and presentation skills including experience of writing accurate and concise reports.
  • Full knowledge of the project life cycle and experience of various project development methodologies
  • Experience of managing people and financial budgets (including project budgeting, monitoring financials etc).
