Technical Architect

We are Recruiting for a Technical Architect for a FTSE 250 Client in Leeds on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £500 a day Ltd/Umbrella.


Core Responsibilities

· Analysing business, data, application and technology requirements and translate those requirements into a solution that achieves the stated business needs

· Develop solution architectures and viewpoints that ensure Business, Data, Application and Technology viewpoints are aligned into a solution that will deliver the required capabilities to the organisation

· Analyse business drivers and identify corresponding change requirements and roadmap

· Design and lead the solution architecture based on business requirements

· Define principles to guide solution selection, design and implementation

· Lead and facilitate solution option analysis where appropriate

· Liaise with application and infrastructure development projects to ensure solutions fit within those architectures

· Define solution patterns to provide solution implementation that are reusable and repeatable

· Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions ensuring consensus and buy-in across all stakeholders is obtained and maintained throughout project lifecycle

· Development of solution architecture viewpoints and principles, and advocate existing viewpoints and principles throughout the business

Key Objectives

· Support solution design and provide solution assurance for all projects and changes

· Support the change process ensuring all impacts are identified and documented for all active projects and changes

· Support overall Group and Divisional architecture governance activity

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

· Take architectural ownership of projects/ changes within the Change Portfolio

· Lead the development of solution architectures, working with the wide architecture team expertise to produce an overall solution architecture

· Liaise with internal or external parties (developers, testers, business users, InfoSec, service management, + other key stakeholders) to ensure solution design is understood and being adhered to

· Attend the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for solution assurance as required

Essential Skills and Knowledge

· Self-starter, able to work effectively alone and as part of a team

· Strong delivery focus, and able to take a pragmatic view on risks/ issues

· Strong communication skills and able to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within the organisation

· Able to lead a team made comprised of multiple organisations, internal departments and differing levels of technical knowledge

· Experience working with, and design solutions across, a range of technologies and specialisms

· Experience of designing solutions within the cloud (AWS / Azure)

· Awareness and Understanding of serverless computing

· Problem solver able to assess a wide range of requirements and constraints and identify the most appropriate target solution aligned to the organisation's enterprise architecture roadmap

· Technically minded and able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, applications and infrastructures

· Awareness of TOGAF

· Awareness of project management methodologies and best practices

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

· Awareness of PCI-DSS and experience implementing PCI compliant applications

· Awareness of GDPR in a Multiclient shared environment

· Experience implementing telephony solutions (virtualised telephony platforms, IVR, outbound diallers)

· Experience working with outsourced/ offshore application support and application development teams

· Awareness of Architecture governance tools (for example iServer)

· Strategy and vision visualisations (presentations)

· Solution analysis documentation

· Solution and technology roadmaps

· High Level Design (HLD) Documents

· Low Level Design (LLD) Documents

· Assisting with the production of projects and planning documentation as required

· Customer (Internal and External) presentations as required

· Contributing to operational documentation as required

· Contributing to lessons learnt reports

· Contributing to Continuous Improvement documentation and planning
