Responsibilities and Duties
There is a requirement for Architectural Technicians to provide Technical assistance to the Project Workload to the Architectural team in Bristol. The role of Architectural Technician will involve technical architectural detailing, working cohesively as a member of a project delivery team. There will also be a requirement to address package procurement in accordance with design deliverables, responding to technical queries, review of sub-contractor information and support to site based teams. A requirement for sound technical knowledge of building legislation and construction technology are essential requirements of the role.
A qualified Architectural Technician with 3-5 years. The projects that the successful candidate will be involved with are being delivered using Revit and experience with this software will be required. This individual will be responsible for providing technical support a number of schemes from RIBA Stage 4+ and based out of the Bristol Studio. There will also be an opportunity for this individual to become involved in further projects at various RIBA stages.
Professional Qualifications
HNC/HND in Architecture/Building Construction or BSc in Architectural Technology. Or other recognised approved equivalents. Eligible member of an appropriate professional institution (MBIAT or recognised approved equivalent).
Other Training
Ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with (and accredited to) professional institute requirements.

Technical Skills

  • To be capable of providing strong technical design support to project teams and be able to deliver successful projects in accordance with client requirements
  • Undertake the role of team member, working flexibly and independently where required in support of the project leader while being efficient in managing one's own time.
  • Ability to undertake tasks required on the day to day delivery requirements of projects at all stages, including; production of design deliverables, providing accurate technical information, addressing technical queries, Site Inspections, condition surveys, monitoring delivery; identifying proposed design change which could impact on fees, change controls, slippage of programme to Project Leader, etc,
  • Be able to deliver projects in accordance with CSL business goals. Through knowledge of Office Procedures and the Capita BMS/QMS systems.
  • Knowledge of current building legislation, construction technology and product development to undertake the production and coordination of design and construction information.
  • Specification writing capability with relevant software/NBS.
  • Understanding of duties and responsibilities under CDM Regulations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.


IT Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
To have developed or developing knowledge to increase skill in the use of
REVIT and Navisworks to achieve project delivery to Level 2 BIM.
Experience
Minimum 3 years post qualification with relevant industry experience.
