Capita are currently looking for a Technical architect to join a leading business who manage, develop and grow the Global Best Practice portfolio. The business is responsible for developing, enhancing and promoting a number of best practice methodologies used globally by professionals working primarily in project, programme and portfolio management, IT service management and cyber resilience.

The mission is to make individuals and organizations more effective by providing practical guidance, content and qualifications distilled from real world experience and developing practices.

The business has recently implemented and continue to develop a DevOps culture. The technical Architect will lead these teams whilst driving SDLC and Agile methodologies. We are looking for someone who has strong stakeholder management and not afraid to push back on client both internal and external.

The TA play a pivotal role in driving adoption of a DevOps culture in AXELOS including specifying, supporting, implementing and maintaining continual integration, delivery and testing mechanisms. They will also be pivotal in supporting key strategic deliveries including Big Data, Privileged Access Management, GDPR adoption and delivery of the organisation's app.

Technical Architecture

  • Creation and maintenance of current, interim and target state architectures (Application, Data and Technology)
  • Responsible for definition and execution of 'Secure by Design' operational processes
  • Definition of principles and responsibility to ensure adherence to principles
  • Definition and maintenance of target operational model for ICT
  • Project architectures (HLD, LLDs) for large scale technical projects
  • Technical SME for RFIs and RFPs, responsible for specification and response where required
  • Ensure close working relationship with information security, ensuring that systems are secure by design and conformant to data protection regulations
  • Work with BAs to decompose business requirements into solutions for development
  • Impact assess business requirements to ensure that system impacts are fully understood at design stage
  • Work with development partners to ensure that dev day estimates are accurate
  • Work with the Quality Assurance and Release Management teams to drive story definition towards TDD methodology
  • Act as a product owner with the CIO for technology, ensuring only systems conforming to agreed technical standards are implemented
  • Act as a SME for technology, interfacing with development, support and business units to ensure technology gaps are understood, documented and raised for correction
  • Own and manage the technical 'book of work' ensuring that all business units are kept updated with latest developments and that any material changes are communicated and managed accordingly
  • TOGAF or equivalent architectural documentation experience
  • Prince 2 Agile or equivalent agile leadership certification
