Systems Developer / Application Support / Systems Administrator / Unix Administrator - Permanent - Southampton

Capita IT Resourcing are currently working with a FTSE 250 client who is based in Southampton in their search for a .NET Developer. They provide the support and development of IT systems for a number of public sector clients.

Most of the systems implemented are market-leading software package solutions, but application development is undertaken when no suitable market solution is available or there is a need to create interfaces between the various systems.

Competitive salary is on offer as well as a number strong perks.

They require an experienced System Developer capable of working on their own initiative and able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and senior management, verbally and in writing. The successful candidate must be willing to take on new challenges, working from / creating new technical specifications and existing system information, creating and editing documentation as necessary.

Working in a team there will be a need to provide support for back office systems running mainly in a Microsoft environment.

Skills:

  • Unix
  • Any Language is desirable (Unix / Linux shell scripting, Oracle SQL & PL/SQL, ASP.NET; C# & VB.NET; Java & Javascript, VB6)
  • Any tools would be desirable (Visual Studio.NET; MS IIS,SQL Server Management Studio; Excel)
