Support Desk Engineer - IT/Networks/Telecoms - £18k-£22k

My client who are a solutions provider and specialise in IT, Networks and Telecoms require an additional Support Desk Engineer due to growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to new technologies and grow your skill set with a company who will invest in their staff.


PURPOSE OF JOB
You will provide support to end users on a variety of issues through identification, research, and resolution of technical problems. Support is provided by responding to telephone calls, monitoring Service Desk tool queues and personnel requests using best practices and department procedures for technical support. Scope of support includes timely review and completion of assigned tickets and assisting in other areas as and where needed.

COMPETENCIES & SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF:

  1. Experience in supporting IT and Wi-Fi technologies
  2. Superb communication & IT skills
  3. Organised and Self-Motivated
  4. Understand the importance of being part of a Team
  5. Have a solid understanding of how networks operate including experience in IPv4, routing and subnets.



JOB DESCRIPTION

Below, are a list of activities/duties generally involved in the role. The list is non exhaustive, and the employee will from time to time be asked to fulfil other duties as directed by the Management Team.

  1. To provide basic support in the following areas Telecoms, IT and WIFI
  2. To answer the support line and log support cases
  3. To provide telephone /remote assistance in resolving cases
  4. To take part in pre-configuration of small projects
  5. To escalate cases that need advanced support or customer care
  6. To regularly update case tracking information
  7. To update paper work on projects and customer documentation
  8. To ensure their own performance targets are met
  9. To assist within the team as a whole to achieve group targets and achieve a high level of customer service.
