Based in Colchester, the organisation are a UK founded publishing organisation.

The role
In your new role you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of databases; including performance tuning, scheduling and monitoring maintenance tasks, as well as effectively managing database growth and extensions. You will be expected to recommend database improvements, ensuring maximum performance and security, whilst providing solutions to business and technical requirements. We take our information security very seriously and you will ensure that our computing facilities are kept secure and that new proposals, installations, upgrades and changes do not breach our security policy or expose us to unnecessary risk. You will also Support and provide guidance to the development team with deployments and schema changes.

What you need
As the successful candidate you will have experience in a similar role and have expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. We require you to have experience with database encryption & security, corporate BI and high availability systems. You will have good knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server 2008 to 2016 and have experience conducting SQL DBA BAU work. You will need experience of all high availability & disaster recovery options for SQL Server, always-on availability groups, database mirroring, log shipping & windows clustering
