Solution Architect - 6 Month Contract - £640.00 Per Day

Capita Primary Care Services England (PCSE) provide key administrative and payment services on behalf of NHS England ranging from managing supplies, performers list and market entry applications through to moving medical records. We do this and more for GPs, Dentists, Opticians and Pharmacists as well as those working in the teams around them and associated disciplines

This role will be based out our prestigious offices based in Leeds!

Solution Architect Required Skills, Expertise and Domain Knowledge

Mix of solution and technical architecture expertise, minimum 10+ year's relevant industry experience (also see specific NHS Primary Care domain knowledge below)

Solution Architect Specific technical skills currently in role:
  • XSD/XML and JSON design and implementation
  • RESTful and SOAP interface design
  • Excellent problem solving and numerical analysis capability with attention to micro detail
  • MS Access, MS Excel, Visual Basic Scripting (WSH), JavaScripting
  • BizTalk, SQL, SSIS, SSRS
  • SFTP (SSH V2)
  • F5 - mutual authentication via digital certificates
  • UI/UX design
  • PDF forms

Proprietary technologies and NHS Primary Care domain knowledge:
  • NHS England GP and Ophthalmic user communities and payment services
  • NHS England MESH messaging infrastructure
  • NHS Shared Business Services - ISFE Payment Interface
  • Kofax document imaging
  • Lithographic printing lifecycle (currently InDesign & Xerox)
  • NHS England organisational structures (including ODS)

Solution Architect Key skills:
  • Solid experience of SLDC (agile & waterfall) and ability to provide analysis and direction at any point in the lifecycle
  • Ability to interpret commercial and elaborated customer requirements and translate to solution (and technical) options
  • Design authority (end to end system experience)
  • Lead change control for Transformation programme
  • Stakeholder and internal architecture boards
  • Owner/maintenance of enterprise wide technical interface catalogue
  • Technical design and authoring of interface, high and low level design and NFR artefacts
  • Supplier and stakeholder management; specifically, document imaging/OCR, printing and Optical Retail suppliers
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Solution Architect responsibilities

  • You will work with Business Architects and Analysts to ensure what is proposed is both fit for purpose and meets the core business needs.
  • You will assist with the coordination of other technical SME's to support the delivery and implementation phases of a programme or project
  • You will understand the challenges and complexities that exists within each stream or area of a programme and be able to integrate these activities.
  • You will promote co-operation and facilitate coordination of all technical and non-technical streams within a programme to achieve the successful delivery of an integrated component of the solution.
  • You will be an excellent communicator and comfortable at explaining and presenting both solutions and rationale for decision making to a technical and non-technical audience via documentation and presentations.
  • You will provide consultancy to determine and understand the dependencies that exist between technical and non-technical components across streams.
  • You will support the project / programme manager/Director in understanding the risks, dependencies and issues that exist and the impact that these may have on the project / programme.
  • You will understand what the project / programme will deliver from a business and benefits perspective and to advise on areas where this in not congruent with the proposed solution.
  • You will leverage and influence change programmes to develop and enhance the relevant standards, policies and guidelines whilst driving adoption of standards.
  • You will be an active team member of the wider Solutions & Assurance team and support colleagues through collaborative transparent peer reviews, audits, standards compliance checks and due diligence as required.
