Software Sales Consultant - £50k-£60k + Commission, Car Allowance and Benefits
Reading/London/Home based

Purpose of Role
This is a senior, direct sales role responsible for developing relationships externally and through other divisions of the business. You'll be selling Application Services to achieve new business sales, identifying opportunities for the full range of our offering, and pursuing them successfully to contract signature.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run sales campaigns to identify and engage with Application Services (mainly Microsoft but also open source) prospects to build relationships and demonstrate the value of our solution
  • Shape, qualify and win new opportunities to exceed sales targets
  • Drive the customer agenda and understand the customer direction, knowing the customer inside out, including significant customer face time
  • Develop a strong network of senior customer contacts to build business opportunities in the role of trusted advisor and be an expert in the field of analytics
  • Establish and successfully execute account plans for major prospects
  • Ensure adequate coverage of personal targets, with qualified opportunities and a high-quality approach to pipeline management
  • Work effectively with bid teams, marketing, operations and finance to develop and deliver market-leading bids, ensuring sales governance is adhered to
  • Ensure commercially sound business contracts
  • Own and run sales and marketing events to develop pipeline and business opportunities
  • Work with other divisions to align sales strategy to benefit from existing relationships and sales activities
  • Support other, wider business sales and marketing initiatives as required.


Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in sales of complex application solutions, ideally within Microsoft technologies
  • Proven track record in software sales
  • Experience of working in a large complex organisation, operating within a small and nimble team.


Education and Qualifications / skills and competencies

  • Demonstrated success winning complex software led sales
  • Demonstrated success of sales practices including account planning and execution
  • Proven success in working Major brand names to win new business
  • Ideally degree educated
