Software Licensing Analyst (SAM)

Software Licensing Analyst to work for a FTSE 100 organisation. Our customer is one of the largest British companies in the world and due to a major new Software Asset Management consolidation programme they are now looking for a Software Licensing Analyst to join the team based in Central London.


  • Preparing and optimising effective licence positions for a major complex vendor
  • Ensuring accurate reporting of vendor compliance
  • Developing optimized vendor licence positions
  • Working with Data Analysts to correctly identify software products that have been discovered on the hardware estate
  • Process Proof of Entitlement to manually match to applications, where automatic reconciliation is not possible
  • Reviewing / importing new purchase information from third party systems
  • Developing and improving SAM lifecycle processes
  • Qualifying and verifying all data sources required for SAM processing
  • Analysis of market changes and assessing impact on vendor licensing

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of Software Asset Management Licensing experience and be able to prove a track record of delivering licensing positions to external customers for at least one major complex vendor (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Symantec, VMWare). This experience should have been from within a SAM orientated organisation, with an outsourcer, or with an independent consultancy or LAR. The role is office based at our HQ in London, with minimal requirement to travel to customers.
