As part of this we are investing heavily in automation, starting with RPA (Robotic Process Automation), and have embarked on an ambitious process to drive automation within our Operations.

As automation becomes critical to business delivery replacing headcount and providing essential assurance processes the service needs to be highly available with a robust Transition path to live leading into a support model aligned to business requirements. A failure of the automation service would likely be commercially and reputationally damaging. The service will need to be agile, delivering change rapidly with minimum disruption so a DevOps approach will be used. The service will be delivered in partnership with a combination of internal and external service partners as well as in-house automation support.

The role:

This role offers an excellent career development pathway and a chance to make a real difference working on a cutting-edge RPA (robotic process automation) programme. This is a critical internal position within the RPA Support DevOps team. The RPA ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for supporting the development in all aspects of ServiceNow development. The platform is very much in an infancy stage and setup as an MVP. The ServiceNow Developer will work alongside the Support team through all phases of the delivery lifecycle to ensure that any ServiceNow platform is consistently developed. configured and matured.

This role represents the Service element across all ITIL competencies and works with our client base to support and guide however challenging the IT Service Management status-quo to do things differently. Your role will be to ensure success with ServiceNow platform in the automation team. It will also act as a shop window business unit to ensure needs are met and a layer of protection to both BU & the automation team. Your work will have huge impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the ServiceNow platform maintaining uptime operationally as this will be a key strategic platform
  • You will be responsible for regular patching, hot fixes and version upgrades in line with product roadmap
  • Creating product backlogs and pipelines to ensure sprints and stories and worked on and delivered to a high standard and on time
  • You will provide the 'Show & Tell' sessions required by support teams necessary to manage the ServiceNow platform
  • You will have Research/Review ServiceNow knowledge, production documentation and release plans to ensure best use and development of available functionality.
  • Experience of private Cloud vendors such VMware & automation such as vCenter/vRA/vCloud Director ~ API, Java SDK, PowerShell CLI tooling and Public Cloud vendors such as AWS/Azure/Oracle and their corresponding API/Java SDK
  • Experience in CSM & Analytics would be a must and in-depth knowledge of the ServiceNow platform.

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience in ServiceNow development and/or configuration
  • Experience in CSM & Analytics and in-depth knowledge of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Ideally qualified as a ServiceNow Administrator, with experience of ServiceNow administration, development, integration and support.
  • Experience of ITIL processes
  • Experience of working in a DevOps/Agile support environment
