Capita's IT skills development programme - Novus, offers you the opportunity to kick start your career in IT Support with paid training and a 2-year secondment in 1st Line Support with a high-level government security organisation.

You will start your journey with 12 weeks training covering the technical and business skills you'll need to commence your role. On successful completion of your training and on passing security clearance you will transfer to our clients site as a Service Desk Analyst. You'll be the first point of contact to staff and police officers, providing support by email, phone and video conferencing and playing a critical role in an essential operation.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordination and ownership of incidents through to progression
  • React to and process alerts
  • Report and track faults through the logging system
  • Keeping customers up to date at all times
  • Assist 2nd and 3rd line support staff as required
  • Use ITIL to ensure 'proper practices'
  • Maintain excellence and confidentiality at all times


Experience of IT support would be an advantage, but it's not essential. If you are IT literate, detail focused with a friendly and helpful approach we'd like to hear from you. You must be good with people and great in a team as well as being able to meet the following criteria:

  • Excellent organisational skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable customer service skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Able to work in a team-based environment
  • Available immediately
  • Able to commence paid training on 11th February which may include staying away from home for part of that, for which expenses will be covered
  • Committed to the programme for a minimum of 2 Years

This opportunity requires a level of Security Clearance and therefore applicants must be willing and able to go through the clearance process and background checks prior to starting on site. Applicants who do not acquire the appropriate clearance or meet the eligibility requirements cannot be offered this position.
