Senior Technical Advisor

Senior Technical Advisor to work for Capita Group PLC. Capita are one of the largest British companies in the world and due to growth and transformation, are now seeking a Senior Technical Advisor to join their team. The role will be based in an exceptional, freshly built office in the heart of Central London.

Overview / Environment - Capita Group PLC relocated to a brand-new, prestigious HQ over a year. One of the key services available to the HQ population is "The Ingenious Bar". The Ingenious Bar is the go-to place for employees in HQ to drop in for IT advice and guidance and the team have been praised with providing a world-class service.
The nature of the role will involve being the most senior person on the Ingenious Bar, dealing with IT queries across a range of topics, proactively advising employees on the technologies available to them, documenting processes and how to guides, as well as identifying improvements to the service in support of the Service Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the senior member of staff on the Ingenious Bar.
  • Be situated at the Ingenious Bar on a day-to-day basis, providing excellent customer service and IT guidance to all employees in the new London HQ.
  • Offer advice on the full range of applications used within Capita, as well as all equipment within the new HQ.
  • Deal with all queries that are submitted in an informed and accountable manner. This could include (although is not limited to) provide advice on; how to set up SharePoint sites, using Yammer, setting up Okta, mobile phones, what laptops are on offer, setting up printers etc.
  • Act as a 'triage' with IT where there are issues that require a break fix. Develop relationships with IT to ensure that all cases are dealt with in as timely a manner as possible.
  • Arrange and deliver 'lunch and learn' sessions on available products and technologies.
  • Document common processes on the bar, and instruction guides.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to technical advisors on the bar.
  • Ensure the bar has sufficient shift cover.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT expert, with over 3 years' experience in a 2nd Line Support position. Capita are a major adopter of Microsoft technologies so advanced knowledge and experience with Office 365 / Windows 10 is also required. Excellent communication skills are seen as an advantage.
