Senior Project Portfolio / Customer Solutions leader required by our leading global client in Aldershot to lead a 'best-in-class' project organization capable of efficiently and successfully deploying all types of projects and programs, including complex integrated multiple solution-line projects and highly complex internal projects.
We are looking for a strong candidate, capable of leading and inspiring people through a period of change.
Focussed on the delivery of portfolio within an international environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Successful overall delivery of all portfolios (P&L, scope, time, customer satisfaction etc.)
  • Directly oversee delivery performance of all large and complex projects - Chair Project Review Boards (PRBs), actively monitor/mitigate portfolio risks and review regular project and programme status reports from the portfolio - Managers on ensuring significant risks are raised to the appropriate levels in the Geo/SL's and at Corporate levels (BOT/SLT).
  • Drive programmes in support of the business lines through successful completion including delivery of operational objectives, quality improvement initiatives and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Build, manage and lead a capable/highly skilled, motivated and flexible pool of project delivery and program resources Portfolio Managers, recruit, performance manage (with input from co-workers, VP, Business Management and from customers as appropriate), train and develop the whole pool - Represent and demonstrate SITA's delivery capabilities in sales presentations for large opportunities
  • Ensure clear interlock in the bid phase and successful transition of completed delivery projects to service operations (SGS) as per defined processes - Based on the delivery pipeline, proactively plan, forecast and make resource decisions to allocate resources effectively (working with the Senior Portfolio Managers where appropriate), to maximize utilization and optimize project costs, including external resources .
  • Provide delivery resources for the local bid and delivery phases of projects and programs to support other client Geographies and centralized Solution Lines on the basis of approved bid/business cases.
  • Ensure application of global standards, tools, processes, and practices (e.g. lessons learned) for project delivery and project management as defined by (and as a result of participation in) the delivery governance (Delivery Steering Group/Process team). - Contribute to the further development of project management profession.

Experience Required

  • 11- 15 years or more in Project Management having managed teams with a proven Project Management methodology and having managed multiple critical projects with full budget responsibility in a commercial environment.
  • 2-4 years' experience in a Portfolio Management Position
  • 10 years in IT solutions provider environment with knowledge of underlying technologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of LAN protocols.
  • Familiarity of ITIL and Service management highly desirable.
  • Experience as a PMO is a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of IT.
