Senior Automation Specialist - Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Networks

Leading Aviation and communication client in Hillingdon are looking to recruit a Senior Automation Specialist to be one of their resident technical experts for one of their technical towers. A proactive Automation Specialist you will be responsible for creating more value out of the infrastructure as well as taking the lead on driving strategic architecture functions.

An innovative candidate who can inject new ideas, suggest options and own the technology.

Automation / AI / Machine Learning / Networks / Security / Design / Airports

You will drive cost savings, simplification as well as new business opportunities by leveraging knowledge of Automation, AI and Machine learning. The role produces cost effective, deliverable solutions to customers, based on customer requirements, strong product and system knowledge and applicable professional services.
The goals are to increase the overall customer satisfaction, implement furthermore automation right through to orchestration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for researching, defining and leading the implementation of enhanced technological solutions and ideas
  • Collaborating with business representatives, ICT, and external technology providers
  • Take the business lead on technology projects,
  • Ensuring Heathrow is delivering modern 'fit for purpose' technology; and taking advantage of digital enablement for both their Customers and their service delivery.
  • Interact with colleagues to gain and share ideas and opportunities
  • Work with customers to better understand their business and develop sound solutions to meet the customer's business requirements
  • Evolve Heathrow's capabilities enabling technology through Automation, AI
  • Champion of Automation with the purpose of developing the tool, implementing enhancements and seeking potential new tasks that could be automated through to orchestration
  • Managing and accountability of an Innovation fund available for to be utilised between Heathrow and the client.
  • Champion of Artificial intelligence & Machine Learning capabilities


Education and Professional Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent preferably in Data Communication, Computer Science or similar
  • Networking certifications of the higher level


Experience

  • Minimum of 6+ years engineering experience in a network solution development / design capacity.
  • Preferably ATI experience working in a complex environment


Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to be the lead technical role on complex projects (size or scope) overseeing requirement analysis through to PoC, Proposal, implementation and support.
  • Sound knowledge of the Heathrow network and security standards.
  • Sound understanding of vendor Network and security offering that are deployed.
  • Expert knowledge of network technologies, network management tools.
  • Expert knowledge of security technologies such as firewall, authentication, encryption, VPN.
  • Understanding of servers, virtualisation and application concepts.
  • Technical designs for medium to high complexity network solutions.
  • Estimate time and cost for projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Understand how to apply technical knowledge to solve business problems.
  • Good knowledge of operational processes locally and globally
  • Working well both independently or as a member of a team
