Project Manager (Software Implementation) Home Based

Project Manager with experience of delivering software related programmes within a client facing and Hands on delivery environment, to work for a leading large organisation that delivers a range of IT services to multi industry clients. The Project Manager will be delivering a range of software related programmes in a hands on capacity to customers travelling to sites across London and Bedfordshire.

The nature of the role will be to deliver a range of software related programmes and projects up to the value of £1m in a customer facing capacity. The Project Manager will be leading and managing the setting-up of the programme through to delivery of the new capabilities, realisation of benefits and programme closure. The Project Manager has primary responsibility for successful delivery of the new capabilities and establishing governance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day management of the projects, including taking the project forward from appointment (usually in Identifying a Programme or Defining a Programme), and supervising, controlling and closing the programme
  • Planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
  • Developing and implementing the programme's governance framework
  • Managing and resolving any risks and other issues that may arise
  • Maintaining overall integrity and coherence of the programme, and developing and maintaining the programme environment to support each individual project within it
  • Managing the programme's budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs against benefits as the programme progresses
  • Ensuring that the delivery of outputs or services from the projects meets programme requirements in line with the programme blueprint and projects dossier, and is to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget
  • Facilitating the development of the blueprint with input and approval of the BCMs
  • Managing the performance of the programme team
  • Managing internal and external suppliers to the programme
  • Managing communications with stakeholders
  • Reporting progress of the programme at regular intervals to the SRO.

The ideal Project Manager will have hands on experience of delivery software services to a customer's in a customer facing capacity working for a large services organisation. The Project Manager will have experience rescueing projects and programmes with strong stakeholder management. The ideal Senior Project Manager will be happy with travel as this role will require travel to customers.
