Project Manager (Cancer Recovery)

Project Manager is needed for a household healthcare body to help deliver a national transformation. The position is a fixed term contract for 3-6 Months but is likely to extend, the position comes with a great deal of flexibility and remote working at times also.

The nature of the role for the Project Manager will be to work alongside senior stakeholders within the NHS taking high level business plans, breaking it down and looking at detailed processes on how to deliver the requirements. You will be involved in translating this vision into reality working with vendors and 3 parties. You will develop and maintain project documentation, including developing a project plan that details the project deliverables and timelines as initiatives confirmed and contracts for delivery agreed and to escalate as appropriate when issues emerge.

Other responsibilities include:

working with NHSI relationship managers, cancer implementation managers and NHSI/E regional teams etc to track progress on NHSI led actions and to be proactive in identifying tasks that will progress the project and have the ability and wherewithal to link with identified individuals in prompting and these actions.

To liaise with NHSE cancer delivery manager and cancer/elective care programme managers to track progress on NHSE led cancer recovery actions and to be proactive in identifying tasks that will progress the project and have the ability and wherewithal to link with identified individuals in prompting these actions.

To pull together reports on progress for regional bipartite and programme boards.

To work with analytics (NHSI and E) to ensure the cancer performance and delivery has a clear weekly dashboard in place to track progress.

To provide other support to the SRO for the programme in relation to cancer 62 day recovery as required.

The ideal Project Manager will has previous NHS experience which is essential, you will have a solid understanding of the NHS landscape. You will be a project management experience and very good relationship management experience and stakeholder engagement experience. Any experience of working on any sort of cancer projects is seen as desirable but not essential.
