Role Overview
Workspace Agility is the evolution of the traditional IT desktop managed service and gives users the convenience and efficiency of self-service, identity management and interactive support. It is an opportunity to empower teams within the organisation by giving users access to all the applications and data they need from any device and location, optimises performance and supports collaborative practices. This can all result in a more innovative, motivated and productive workforce.

The Pre-Sales TDA plays a leading role in customer opportunity engagements and thought leadership across the Workspace Agility proposition, working closely with our Sales Teams and working alongside Technical Architects and Service Architects.

This is a customer facing role which includes working with senior stakeholders to elicit and define business goals and objectives; delivering pre-sales capabilities and experiences that enable compelling solutions to be proposed and which support business development.

The role will also provide feedback into the Workspace Agility Product; working with the Subject Matter Experts and 3rd Party Suppliers to support the integration of new Product Features into customers; aligned with the Workspace Agility Product Roadmap.

The role is a senior technical position that is aligned to a Team of TDAs who provide technical knowledge, mentoring and guidance for Workspace Agility's wide range of cloud-based technologies and services along with transitioning these into existing environments.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities are detailed below, although the post holder would also be expected to perform any other duties which might reasonably be required by the business. Activities range from providing strategic IT direction to a whole organisation to solution architecture for individual opportunities or projects.

Pre-Sales

  • Develop and maintain Pre-Sales Go To Market documentation based on the detailed technical product documentation provided by the Workspace Agility Team.
  • Maintain a leading knowledge and understanding of Workspace Agility.
  • Lead Pre-Sales Workspace Agility engagements at a senior level with potential customers, managing professional and managed service enquiries.
  • Identify and qualify customer opportunities and designs.
  • Engaging with customers to understand their business goals and objectives to translate these into solutions which align with Workspace Agility services as well as other complementary services offered by Capita IT & Networks.
  • Act as our customer's trusted advisor on Workspace Agility services by supporting our customer's understanding where the proposed solution and related Workspace Agility services meet the customer's needs.
  • Train and develop Sales Team members to position Workspace Agility services.
  • Oversee Workspace Agility consultancy assignments to ensure they address customer requirements.
  • Identify roadmap opportunities based upon customer demand and communicate these to the Workspace Agility Product team; working within the Scrum framework to contribute towards future offerings.
  • Ensure consultancy assignments are undertaken consistently and with quality.
  • Highlight technical risks so that any exposure to commercial loss can be minimised.
  • Ensure that hand over to the relevant support organisation is successfully completed.
  • Identify and progress follow-on service and sales opportunities.
  • Nurture internal expertise to support client engagement across the services we deliver.

Technology

  • Maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of the Workspace Agility proposition and its underlying technologies.
  • Maintain a high level of industry awareness through training and self-development.
  • Keep up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies.
  • Drive innovation, identifying and market testing new propositions.
  • Champion IT Services, training and coaching Sales staff to raise awareness and increase the identification of relevant opportunities.
  • Produces externally publishable white papers and articles that demonstrate thought leadership and enhance the reputation of IT Services

Personal Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent customer facing skills up to and including C level within large enterprise customers.
  • Able to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences, understand complex business requirements and align them to available solutions and services.
  • Demonstrable pre-sales experience in similar roles, eliciting business requirements and interpreting them into accurate deliverable requirements which align to the product as well as experience in developing business cases, responses to requests for information, proposals and tenders.
  • Wide ranging technical knowledge across the technologies which underpin Workspace Agility services, especially Microsoft 365 Enterprise Modern Workplace technologies including Modern Desktop (Windows 10, Office 365 Pro Plus, Servicing), Enterprise Mobility and Security (Device Management / MDMD / MAM with ConfigMgr and Intune, Conditional Access, Identity and Access with Azure AD and Hybrid Identity with AD DS, Security using ATP, AIP, CAS etc,) and Office365.
  • An excellent understanding of how Modern Workplace technologies integrate with wider customer IT landscapes, key pre-requisites and concepts with proven experience working with such technologies (e.g. Networks, AD DS, ConfigMgr).
  • Experience in large-scale migration projects from traditional PCLM services to Modern Workplace services.
  • Strong risk management skills both for new customer opportunities and for post-sales deliveries.
  • Awareness of relevant automation techniques, DevOps and Continuous Delivery principles would be an advantage.
  • Strong strategy development/consultancy experience.
