Project Support Services (PSS) constitutes a number of service functions under a simple banner delivering into Project Services, Accounts & Transformation and other parts of Capita. The service functions under PSS include, PMO Service Delivery, Support Solutions, MI Hub with known interdependencies between the functions.

Within Capita all programmes and projects must adhere to the Capita's Corporate Governance policies, processes and procedures and this includes underlying Capita and/or client Programme and Project defined governance, controls and methodologies. The PMO is set up to support the governance and delivery of the Capita and Client Account Portfolios, through the provision of portfolio, programme and project support services to accounts and programmes, which supports the Project Services and local Account Exec teams manage and control the delivery of project and programme activity. The services provided by each PMO varies by account. Each account is managed by a PMO Manager or Regional PMO Manager who reports into a PMO Service Delivery Manager (SDM). Each SDM oversees the services provided by PMO teams to a number of accounts. The SDMs also provide a UK wide view and management to resolution of common project related issues and opportunities across Capita, e.g. issues with third party engagement. The services provided vary by account.

The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for:

  • Effective and efficient delivery through co-ordinating all planning activities within the assigned Programmes/Accounts, whilst making significant enhancements/improvements to current services.
  • Creating and integrating Project / Programme Plans
  • Supply & Demand Management - Resource Management
  • Analysis, MI and report production
  • Programme & Project Planning support
  • Maintain a document Library/repository
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Methodology/Quality support
  • Change Management
  • Governance support

We are looking for candidates with experience of:

  • Integrating Project / Programme Plans
  • Resource Profiling and highlighting potential resource bottlenecks
  • Formulating and maintaining standard planning rules and templates
  • Tracking/ Monitoring / Reporting Programme progress against individual plans and supplier plans
  • Producing High Level Plans at Account level view
  • Presenting data / reporting progress to the Client
  • Providing Quality Assurance type role for WSL level 3 plans
  • Using MS Project to support WSL in creation and maintenance of plans
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules
  • Flexible with working hours to meet deadlines, achievement oriented
  • Methodical with attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication with experience of liaising with stakeholders at various levels

Essential skills:

  • Advanced Excel - including experience in pivots, macros, formulas
  • MS Project
  • Integrating project plans
  • Resource profiling
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint as a document library
