Capita IT Resourcing is partnered with a leading Cloud-based Software provider in their search for a NOC Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring key services and applications for the client's infrastructure (network, servers, applications, security, capacity). They will troubleshoot to resolve monitoring alerts, resolve escalations from Support and escalate any outstanding fixes to the appropriate teams to ensure that anything impacting the customer is resolved promptly, within SLAs.

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Proactively monitor alerts and take action according to standard procedures.
  • Proactively monitor logs and take action according to standard procedures.
  • Monitor operations e-mail inboxes for tasks and potential issues, initiating action in response to requests.
  • Take all reasonable steps to resolve issues, especially in the event of any customer-impacting outages/issues.
  • Triage issues to recognise the need for escalation early. Ensure all relevant information is provided to the next teams as per standard escalation procedures. Retain ownership and tracking of the issue and tracking through to completion.
  • Aid the investigation and troubleshooting on any incidents assigned to the NOC team in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Propose improvements to the platform for approval with a focus on increasing stability, efficiency and ultimately customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in improvement projects or actions.
  • Ensure all documentation is updated and maintained, including ticket entries for individual issues, so that others can quickly and easily understand the issue, actions and resolution.
  • Prepare and provide clear handovers between other regional NOC teams.

Key skills and experience:

  • Commercial experience in a NOC or application support role
  • Experience of working in a customer-facing role
  • Experience of troubleshooting technical issues
  • Experience of using a ticketing system and updating customers on progress
  • Experience of working within ITIL and ISO certified environments
