MI & Systems Manager

My market leading client based in Edinburgh are looking for a solution focussed individual with advanced technical skills to facilitate client engagement, and provide professional leadership that enables their teams to meet business objectives, in line with the account strategies, company values, policies and procedures, HR best practice, ITIL standards and external legislative requirements. The MI & Systems Manager is an integral part of the management team, heading up a key areas of growth within the HR Service Centre environment.

The successful candidate will be able to apply strategic and business targets to HR technical and data products and transactional services in the following areas: Systems Helpdesk, Web Design, Data Analytics and System Development.

This role will manage the day-to-day activities of the MI & Systems teams in Edinburgh.

Key responsibilities

Team Management

  • Manage the daily activities of the MI & Systems teams.
  • Provide direction to team members, motivating, coaching and supporting them to achieve personal and business objectives.
  • Responsible for daily operations, ensuring the teams are adequately resourced to cover peaks in transactional volumes.
  • Driving a rigorous attention to metric in order to achieve KPIs and SLAs, ensuring that necessary interventions take place to prevent the failure to meet targets.
  • Ensuring all teams are multi-skilled and trained to the appropriate level.
  • Acting as an escalation point for client queries, ensuring a timely investigation and response are provided and appropriate actions are taken to prevent issues re-occurring.
  • Identifying opportunities for continual service improvement and review of processes to ensure they are at their optimal level of efficiency and capability.
  • Ensuring compliance to business assurance targets and driving a high performing culture to minimize the business risks.
  • Identifying and managing risks by implementing appropriate controls and creating action plans.
  • Work with business support to produce, analyse and understand metrics, ensuring any anomalies are investigated and recorded for audit purposes
  • Ensure administration guides and checklists are always up to date, adhering to change control policies and auditing version control and archiving procedures.
  • Ensuring the effective use of the CRM, monitoring that processes are updated and recorded correctly for metric and audit purposes.
  • Actively monitoring and checking the quality of the team output by consistent use of error logs and regular review of transactions.
  • Identifying any potential issues and problems and escalate to the Business Manager as required.
  • Manage change control requests from the client, ensuring the change is costed and documented appropriately.
