Lead Internal Quality Assurer - Home Based

This is a home based role but you will be travelling through the North West offices which include Newcastle and Manchester.

Lead Internal Quality Assurer Reporting structure
The Lead Internal Quality Assurer (LIQA) will report to the Lead Internal Quality Assurer (LIQA) and will be expected to work closely with other members of the Quality Team. There will also be times where there will be a requirement to work on projects and activities to support the wider Quality, Operations, Product and MI teams as well as other Knowledgepool departments.

Lead Internal Quality Assurer Role & responsibilities

  • The LIQA will work closely with the Quality Team to provide Knowledgepool with a robust process for the continuous development and monitoring of the e-learning, apprenticeship and pre-employment delivery in line with our innovative ways of working.
  • The LIQA will be responsible for ensuring that Talent Coaches (TCs) and Trainers are competent, updated, skilled and reliable to support and meet all objectives and expectations of the business.
  • They will be responsible for quality assuring TCs and Trainers' work through a range of activities, including sampling, observations of Teaching, learning and assessment and EPA Gateway checks.
  • They will be a Subject Matter Expert on at least one subject area of expertise, ensuring the promotion of best practice and the use of up to date and innovative resources. They will monitor practices to ensure standardised and relevant delivery that meets all AOs and EPAOs standards.


Lead Internal Quality Assurer Responsibilities are:

  • To be fully conversant with Ofsted Common Inspection Framework 2015, ensuring these standards are fully embedded with all delivery and programme development
  • Where required, to be fully conversant with Skills Development Scotland Quality Framework (2018) ensuring these standards are fully embedded with all delivery and programme development
  • To ensure that all standards are met in line with the appropriates regulatory bodies' expectations
  • To maintain Knowledgepool's IQA sampling strategy through a range of activities and ensure relevant documents are up-to-date, accurate and reliable
  • To maintain a caseload of skilled and competent Talent Coaches and Trainers
  • To support Talent Coaches and Trainers with the delivery of English and maths, Functional Skills and invigilation if applicable
  • To support managers, Talent Coaches and Trainers to ensure timely completion of programmes and maintain the 'at risk' report and action plan for your allocated vocational area.
  • To participate in inductions for new IQAs and support new Talent Coaches and Trainers providing them with a comprehensive induction
  • To support stakeholders as required with client and learner queries, interviews, new business and performance management
  • To carry out observations of teaching, learning and assessment and promoting outstanding TLA through focused action planning and support
  • To coordinate CPD activities and Best Practice Events in line with Knowledgepool Professional Development plan
  • To plan and execute the delivery of guidance and support where required to Talent Coaches and Trainer

Lead Internal Quality Assurer Requirements

  • D 32/33/34 or A1/ V1 or TAQA 3/4 qualifications
  • Either hold or working towards a recognised teaching/training qualification i.e. PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Level 3 Education and Training Award or Certificate of Education
