LAN Technology Lead

Leading Aviation and communication client in Hillingdon are looking to recruit a LAN Technology lead.
This will be an initial 8-month contract.
The technology lead function is an exciting new addition to our client's team who support critical national infrastructure. Our client is looking for self-starting domains experts with solid experience of delivering continuous improvement and refusing to settle for the status quo.
As a Technology Lead you will be the resident technical expert in the team
Your principle role will be to identify opportunities that deliver greater value from an already significant investment in technology preventing problems from becoming issues. You will also help shape the Architecture strategy to keep the technology relevant and supporting ever changing business requirements. Finally, you will support the wider team in resolving the complex problems before they become major issues
LAN / CISCO / CCNP / CCIP / CCNA / ACI / 8 Months

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify options and make recommendations (process. technology) that introduce benefits in how the infrastructure is architected, configured and maintained.
  • Maintain an industry outlook and introduce new ideas (process, technology) that meet business requirements
  • Support the team identify options and make recommendation that keep the Architecture relevant in meeting changing business requirements. use cases.
  • Continuously identify and document lessons learnt, known errors and operational knowledge for improved services, updating operational knowledge articles
  • When/where required, be contactable for escalations and support, on an on-call standby basis as a technology expert.
  • When/where required, perform assigned tasks on 24 x 7.
  • Ensure the correct functioning and maintenance of all internal and external systems and products serviced by Service Operations
  • Perform Change Management, Configurations, Design and Implementation of the supported Product & Systems
  • When/where required, perform assigned tasks on 24 x 7.


Education and Professional Qualifications
Degree or equivalent Diploma / Certificate in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent Telecommunications in-country qualification.

  • Recognized industry certifications such as, MCITP, CCNA/CCNP, CCIE
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate



Experience
Must have dealt directly with external customers delivering to SLAs.

    • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in the network, and/or application/system support domain
    • Experience of working in the Airport / Airline industry (desirable).

    Knowledge and skills
    Knowledge & understanding in one or several of the following domains:
  • Network protocols and services, Cisco System, Nexus, ACI and associated technologies
  • Firewall Palo Alto and associated technologies
  • Customer Service, pro-activeness and ownership attitude and sense of service to support customers and own their issues until resolution to their satisfaction
  • Ability to support, troubleshoot, analyse and investigate on proprietary systems
  • Installation & configuration of end user applications and software
  • Ability to analyse, draw conclusions, and create solutions to customer's moderately complex problems
  • Ability to build relationships with peer and management levels both with clients and the company management
  • Ability to troubleshoot LAN and HDC topologies based on TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, and Nexus /ACI networks.
  • Ability to carry out configuration tasks on Cisco LAN switches & routers and Cisco Lan technologies
