IT Support Engineer - £36,000

At Capita we are looking for an IT Support Engineer to be a part of our brand new 24/7 shift team providing technical support and maintenance in our office based in West Malling. As the IT Support Engineer, you'll be helping the more junior employees, making sure they are trained up and doing the correct procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with both 1st/2nd line issues working with Windows, MS Exchange, Virtualisation, AV, Active Directory and Citrix.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating system changes.
  • Meeting client defined SLA's when responding to incidents within Remedy.
  • Management of Technical Incidents raised through Remedy, ensuring that incidents are fully updated with technical resolution steps documented within the Incident.
  • Reacting to events that are raised through automated monitoring tools and escalated by Operations engineers within the team.
  • Ownership of P1 incidents, providing comprehensive updates to Major Incident Management.
  • Problem management from a P1 Problem ticket or from a pro-active problem being raised.
  • Troubleshooting and fault fixing backup failures.
  • Responsibility for the upkeep of the Infrastructure estate Out of Hours.
  • Work with Compliance to review and fix any vulnerabilities raised as part of Pen tests for our clients.
  • Identify skill and documentation gaps and raise these with the Shift Lead.
  • Escalation of calls to other support teams or 3rd parties as necessary.
  • Store all versions of documents in the defined location on SharePoint and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Create and Review documentation on a regular basis.
  • Mentor1st line engineers.
