HR Performance and Develop Consultant - Job Family Architecture

Purpose/ Role

Using a combination of industry best practice talent framework data, grading methodologies and HR analytics capabilities, we followed a technology lead approach to define and then map workforce against a standardised job structure.

This is a foundational element of the overall HR change programme. The intent of this initiative is to address the lack of HR structured job framework as a prerequisite to support other transformation initiatives. The area of focus is to develop, implement and manage a job function, family and grading structure for the whole of Capita. This role will be within the wider global Capita Academy team, responsible for putting in place the learning, development and performance frameworks and practices across Capita.

In order to be considered for this position you MUST have Significant expertise or track records specifically around implementing / embedding capability development frameworks, competency development expertise, job levelling etc

Key Aims/ Objectives

The HR Consultant is responsible for owning the standard job framework, including role profile and grade, ensuring that all employees are correctly mapped to this standard framework. Other responsibilities include:

  • To develop and maintain a clearly defined global job and grading structure for Capita, adding any new roles when identified
  • Support the delivery of the longer-term strategy for JFA linking into learning and reward
  • Ensure that all joiners, movers and leavers are accurate and reflects Capita's core HR system
  • Supports the Workday project with data feed as required
  • Communicate regularly with the HR teams, regional deployment/change leads supporting the project
  • Ensure the JFA supports the Capability Development frameworks being developed for each Learning Faculty within the Capita Academy

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure data is secure and handled efficiently
  • Own and maintain framework for job functions, families and grades based on the standard offering on IBM Watson
  • Agree principals and strategy for the mapping of data into this framework
  • Develop and deliver communications with HR teams and business leads
  • Review and analyse headcount data from various sources to create a data set to be used for mapping purposes
  • Undertake discussions with HR teams and business partners on any roles which cannot be assigned and validate those that have been mapped
  • Provide final data to be uploaded to Workday
  • Provide training to HR teams on job family mapping and maintenance
  • Obtain sign off on mapped data
  • Ensure the alignment of JFA and Capability Development frameworks

Essential skills and experience:

  • Understanding of HR processes particularly learning, development and reward
  • Advanced organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours to accommodate working within a global team in multiple time zones
