Head of New Business - Software

London - £100k + £60k OTE and Benefits.

Our client are growing fast and need a bright, self-motivated, professional Head of Sales to run their new business sales team with a confident attitude, passion and drive to exceed sales targets and generate new business.

They need experience within the software sales industry, (professional services firms would be an advantage but not essential) and experience working in a face to face, fast moving business to business environment.

They need a superb communicator both verbally and written, with effective presentation skills and the ability to inform and persuade others to gain maximum benefit for all.

What you will be doing?

This role is for an energetic and enthusiastic Head of New Business Sales to run the strategically important new business sales team. The focus will be to realise the significant growth potential for the client solution globally.

They are looking for an exceptional candidate with a proven ability to open new client and market opportunities, be entrepreneurial in approach and demonstrate effective sales management capability. A structured, business professional with the ability to create a long term vision and the determination to create success will excel in this post.

The core of the role will be to manage a team of sales consultants and support the development of growth strategies within the existing client base.

Energy, strategic thinking, wanting to be the first, innovation and leading a team into new and uncharted territories, are core to this role. The candidate will be managing a team of 5 -7 sales professionals, so ability to monitor, manage and motivate a team will be key.

There is an expectation of being able to create growth plans for this area of the business and therefore a structured approach to business planning is required. Knowledge and use of sales methodologies would be a distinct advantage.

The Ideal candidate will have the following:

* A total of 10-12 years of sales experience of which at least 4 years have been spent in a managerial role (ideally within software sales, but not a pre-requisite)
* Proven track record of delivering and exceeding sales targets

* Ability to close new business deals is critical
* Knowledge of the resource management software market would be considered an advantage
* Experience in building compelling business cases

* Ability to generate new pipeline and building presence within new markets
* Experience in stakeholder management - internal and external

* Understanding of sales methodologies
* Proven management capability for a similar sized team of sales professionals

* Ability to identify, create and close new business opportunities within new and given markets
* Creation of business growth plans underpinned by experience in delivering them
* Effective personal and team pipeline management with metrics applied
* Ability to be a credible advisor to clients and supporting the sales team to achieve the same status with their client base
* Proven ability to manage team / individual performance and deliver outcomes
* Innovative and entrepreneurial outlook
* Supporting the closure of deals with varied sales cycles (2 to 12 months) and ability to support the team
* Experience of a joint approach between sales and marketing

* Has gravitas and is skilled at managing C-suite stakeholders, both internally and externally
* Excellent communicator with effective presentation and influencing skills
* Strong forecasting skills and ability to qualify sales opportunities
Ability to negotiate and close deals and support the team members in doing so as well
