Role and accountabilities:
Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams both internal and external to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value to users. The Agile Manager will be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using agile methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions. The manager will play a number of different roles in actual practice:

  • At an enterprise level, leading and managing large, complex enterprise-level projects consisting of multiple teams and/or requiring integration with other activities outside the finance team.
  • Reviewing the Finance IT delivery processes and streamlining them to make them more agile.
  • At a team level, playing a consultative role to help put in place the appropriate people, process, and tools and coaching members of the team as needed to move them towards agile ways of working.
  • As a mentor, the Agile Manager is responsible for guiding teams into the Agile methodology, providing employees with feedback and means of improvement, catalyzing organizational growth and answering questions. Provide hands-on support to all employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles, leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of Agile as well as overall company growth and improvement.
  • Implement Agile Methodology - This task entails implementing Agile process, principles and practices across all levels and departments in an organization. The Agile Manager must use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation. In order to do this, the Manager must also embody the Agile principles and lead by example.

In performing these roles, the Manager will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

Experience Required:

  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with extensive experience in delivery is an absolute must.
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering projects using Agile methodologies in the finance space.
  • Excellent knowledge of the finance processes and a finance background is needed.
  • Previous experience of helping the organizations adopt agile as a way of working.
  • Previous experience of automating testing/standard processes for faster deliveries.
  • Self-starter and a fast paced worker is a must.
  • Sufficient level of technical Oracle background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issue
  • Ability to provide leadership to technical team and collaborate with customers and develop processes and solutions of high business value
