The elective care programme manager will help drive and deliver programmes working with a number of different stakeholders which will include clinicians. You will be inolvevd in looking at how to transform pathways to power the best clinical care.

Building on the existing programme plan for Elective Care transformation, the specific deliverables will be to:

  1. a) Develop and put in place governance arrangements for each workstream, with agreement of the identified Elective Care board level SRO for each workstream, including:
  2. Co-ordinating input into each workstream from the identified clinical, local bipartite, CCG and provider workstream members
  3. Organising and providing secretariat to any workstream meetings, as agreed with the SRO/Elective Care programme manager
  4. b) Develop and maintain project documentation, including developing a project plan that details the project deliverables and timelines as initiatives confirmed and contracts for delivery agreed and to escalate as appropriate when issues emerge. The detailed plan will need to break down specific actions on an STP footprint, drawing this together so that we have overarching plan for each workstream
  5. c) Work closely with NHS regional and local teams to
  6. ensure that actions for local delivery are clearly communicated and owned by local bipartites;
  7. identify where regional programme support can support local bipartites with delivery of their actions to progress the workstream plans
  8. monitor progress on actions/risks to delivery at a provider/CCG/STP level
  9. d) Provide regular reports on progress with implantation and risks to delivery to Bipartite, Elective Care and SMT/other key meetings
  10. e) Identify, support required by local systems, CCGs, providers and STPs to implement the key deliverables and highlight to local/regional bi-partite
  11. f) provide regional capacity to delivery of actions identified in the workstream plan that may sit with the regional team, including, for example, support to setting up and running regional events, workshops and webex's
  12. g) Provide other support to the SRO for the workstreams or the regional Elective Care programme Manager, as required

The ideal elective care programme manager must have NHS experience, with the ability to deliver PM techniques in a light touch way to avoid additional burden of PM reporting on local systems/local bipartite colleagues where possible. The elective care programme manager must be able to work within a complex environment, with rapidly shifting priorities. You must have the capability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local teams - therefore good relationship management skills are a priority.
