Capita IT Resourcing is currently recruiting for a Disaster Recovery Co-Ordinator to join us on a permanent basis in our West Malling location. The role has arisen due to an internal promotion and we are ideally looking for someone to start in the near future. The DR Co-Ordinator will assist in planning and executing Disaster Recovery testing across our Datacentres and on behalf of our clients.

The primary objective for the role is to co-ordinate DR test exercises. This will be achieved by working with clients to understand the business requirements giving a detailed test plan allowing meaningful testing and ensuring the integrity of Production Services. As well as liaising with clients, you will also work very closely with the internal technical support teams and, in some cases, third parties to deliver the client DR test. You will be expected to maintain an event log throughout, recording all progress, timings and issues encountered. At the end of each test, you will be expected to produce a detailed report to document the findings. This role would suit someone from an IT Support (Desktop, 1st/2nd Line) who is looking to move, longer term into project management or someone who is a Junior Project Manager/Project Co-Ordinator with an understanding of general IT and the basics of Disaster Recovery.

Essential Experience/Skills

  • An understanding of DR policy and Strategy
  • A knowledge and understanding of current Disaster Recovery planning methodologies, techniques.
  • A nunderstanding of physical and virtual infrastructures and SAN storage.
  • A familiarity with the methods used in performing risk analysis and business impact assessment.
  • Knowing when to escalate issues to line management to ensure that a test stays on target and is ultimately successful.
  • Good project management skills - ability to plan, organise and manage technical resources to deliver a successful test following business resumption procedures.
  • MS OFFICE is the primary tool, so a good working knowledge of WORD and EXCEL.
  • Either currently holds or is able to achieve SC Clearance.

Desired Experience/Skills

  • Familiarity with REMEDY.
  • POWERPOINT knowledge is desirable.
  • Previous exposure in a busy multi-client environment and ability to multi-task.
