Divisional Portfolio Manager/ Head of Portfolio (Transformation, Technology)

Portfolio Manager / Head of Portfolio to work for our large customer who are going through an exciting period of change and transformation. Due the exciting Transformational journey our customer is going through, they are looking to bring on a Divisional Portfolio Manager or Head of Portfolio to support and coordinate the delivery of strategic programmes and investment designed to transform and grow the business. The Divisional Portfolio Manager / Head of Portfolio will join this exciting team based in London.

The nature of the role for the Divisional Portfolio Manager or Head of Portfolio will be to Support the divisional Strategy and Transformation Director to establish the portfolio office, setting up and managing delivery of our Transformation portfolio (in-flight, pipeline change initiatives and investment). Lead the definition and rollout of our portfolio, programme and project management standards and tools, working collaboratively with Group and the multiple PMO offices. This will include, identifying and rolling out training, developing teams and embedding the new delivery culture.

The Portfolio Manager / Head of Portfolio will also get involved in:

  • Support activities to organize and run the monthly portfolio governance and investment board, and other governance activities by providing recommendations, briefings and management information reports on the portfolio and collating inputs from the various stakeholders and PMOs
  • Lead interactions with key senior stakeholders across the business to solve problems and issues as required including the development and agreement on plans and actions
  • Liaise with Group programmes to agree and complete regular reporting, impact assessment, align plans, milestones and manage dependencies on the strategic portfolio
  • Organising and supporting external reviews to the Portfolio and to the programmes, ensuring recommendations are acted upon and proposed changes implemented;
  • Provide support to delivery teams, senior stakeholders and PMOs as required

The ideal Divisional Portfolio Manager or Head of Portfolio will have previous and proven experience managing a portfolio office, not just a standard PMO. The Portfolio Manager will have proven experience of working within a large organisation that has gone through transformation and digital and technology change. Experience maintaining a portfolio / programme office function, providing support for large transformation programmes, embedding and maintaining governance processes, reporting, assurance, performance and risk management. Two or more of the following professional qualifications with demonstrable experience: PRINCE2®, MSP, Portfolio management qualifications, associate membership of APM or higher
