The Company


Based in Manchester in the UK and with a satellite office in Prague, we specialise in creative tech and production for direct and agency clients including the Foo Fighters, Rolling Stones, Sony Music, and The BBC amongst many others. In the last 3 years, we have delivered 100+ projects ranging from socially charged apps and sites, to complex server-side builds.

The end user is at the core of everything we do, we challenge every brief collectively to ensure our proposed solution is fit for purpose and goes beyond client expectations. This allows for the crossfertilisation of ideas from our in-house core skill set; Strategy, UX, Design, Development, QA and Project Management. We work on projects that require bespoke solutions, using multiple technologies and integrating several APIs as well as content creation, design and animation.

The Role


We're looking for a mobile and web developer with proven industry experience, to join our experienced team on a permanent basis. This role will give the opportunity to deliver some very high-profile projects for some of the world's biggest music artists, brands and clients. We expect the candidate to have proven expertise developing mobile apps, for both iOS and Android.

The Person


The right person will thrive on the challenge of developing complex and innovative bespoke digital projects, working across multiple platforms. Someone who has high empathy for the end user and is comfortable taking a technology agnostic approach to development.

You'll have a wide range of hands-on technical abilities, combined with positive communication skills and the determination to overcome whatever challenges arise along the way. Most importantly, you will possess the motivation to work within a team, whilst still taking ownership of solutions and delivering great quality work.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is not just passionate about technology and web development but also actively interested in UX and design. Someone who can understand the project's requirements and together with colleges, is driven to exceed client expectations.

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • A minimum of 3 years of digital agency experience, preferably working on mobile app development
  • Professional experience and advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP & MySQL
  • Experienced in Mobile app development for both iOS and Android
  • Advanced knowledge React Native (ideally Este stack), Firebase and using REST API in Express and a SQL database
  • Experience with MVC JavaScript frameworks, such as Vue.js, Angular, ReactJS and JavaScript standards such as ES6 & ES2016
  • Experience using cloud computing, services and hosting solutions such as AWS, Azure and Google


Cloud Platform
Familiar using a wide range of established and bespoke APIs e.g. S3, YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, Google Maps, Twilio, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

  • Experience working with Agile/Lean Agile/Kanban working practices and tools
  • Advanced use of version control services such as Gitlab/Github together with working on multiple branches and maintaining code with the rest of the team
  • Comfortable using command-line interfaces; both on the remote servers and locally
  • Comfortable using task-runners and dependency management tools such as Grunt, Gulp, Bower, Webpack, NPM and Composer
  • Familiar with best practices around optimising code, asset management and caching techniques
  • Diligence to comment your code, provide feedback and documentation as a courtesy for other developers and team members to follow
  • Diligence to identify and fix bugs, logical trouble-shooter and to work with QA to ensure that the solution is fit for purpose
  • Comfortable with writing own developer plans, time-management and hitting delivery deadlines
  • Proactive in seeking help and advice from the wider project team when a blocker is identified or when there is a need to find an alternative approach to a task
  • Ability to follow agency processes and to understand the business and client needs



Desirable Skills & Attributes

  • Worked and been involved in from start to finish, bespoke campaign-driven projects that show a flair for creativity and/or great UX or unconventional data management
  • High empathy for the end-user and understanding of service design
  • Excellent communication skills, able to discuss complex technical ideas and solutions with fellow developers and the wider team
  • Interest in new coding methods, automation and code standards
  • Comfortable using HTML5 CANVAS, WebGL and building rich immersive user experiences
  • Able to work with and set up various content management systems; both open source and established, such as Wordpress 5, Drupal and Magento 2
  • Experience with MVC PHP frameworks, such as Laravel and Lumen
  • Advanced knowledge of PHP 7+ to build server tools, web applications and SOAP/RESTFUL API
  • Experience using Node.JS, Express, Mongoose, MongoDB and Node based CMS
  • Experience writing and maintaining versatile plugins, tools and scripts that can be used across projects
  • DevOps experience and an understanding of site deployments and processes for both testing, staging and production environments
  • Experience with local development, automation and DevOps tools such as Vagrant, Docker and Jenkins
