Senior Consultant - Data & Analytics

(Based at home, half the week)

The Data & Analytics Consultant plays a key role in project teams, ensuring that development adheres to best practices to assure the quality of the solution and meet customer needs. The consultant is expected to fully participate in the development process by working closely with his team colleagues and contributing positively to the team's success by sharing his knowledge and experience. This role will be performed in Data Projects such as Data Warehouses, Data Migrations, Advanced Analytics, Big Data and Cloud solutions.

The successful Data & Analytics Senior Consultant would expect the following responsibilities wise:

  • Achieve the successful delivery of the proposed Data solution
  • Combine the activities of a Data team to ensure that the deliverables are consistent, logical and justifiable
  • Understand the technical problems, challenges and complexities that exist within each stream or area of a project and be able to manage and/or liaise with other technical stream leads to arrive at an integrated technical solution that meets the business requirements.
  • Support the Solutions/Data Architect to develop and enhance standards, policies/guidelines whilst driving adoption of standards.
  • Be able to express complex ideas to both non-technical and technical audiences
  • Manage key stakeholder expectations
  • Perform peer reviews, audits, standards compliance checks and due diligence as required
  • Provide guidance and direction for the data analyst.
  • Liaise with the project manager to define priorities and work allocation
  • Support the project / programme manager in understanding the technical risks, dependencies and issues that exist, be able to quantify these and the impact that they may have on the project / programme.
  • Report delivery progress and status to both internal and external stakeholders

For the role the right candidates will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Analytics and high data volume projects, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Experience working with Cloud environments - AWS, AWS Redshift
  • Previously worked on Big Data Projects - Snowflake, Hadoop, Hive
  • Analytics programming knowledge - R, Python, IBM SPSS Statistics, IBM SPSS Modeler
  • Experience working in BI Data modelling, ETL tools, BI Reporting
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft BI stack: Sql Server, Integration Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services and Power BI
