Cyber Security Architect - ISO27001/CISSP

£60,000 - £72,000 plus travel, pension, life assurance, healthcare, many more

Our client a market leading technology services company based in London are looking for a Cyber Security Architect to join their Cyber Security Division on a permanent basis.

The Cyber Security Architect will provide the management of, and provision of expert advice on, the selection, design, justification, implementation and operation of information security controls and management strategies to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and relevant compliance of information systems with legislation, regulation and relevant standards.

The suitable candidate will possess strong inter-personal skills, especially in handling contacts at a high level.

You will have an in-depth knowledge of a least one specific technical area (i.e. cloud, end-user infrastructure etc) and be educated to Master's degree level and also hold a number of relevant professional qualifications.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills

  • Conducts security control reviews across a full range of control types and techniques, for business applications and computer installations. Seeks guidance from more experienced or specialised practitioners as required. Recommends appropriate action to management.
  • Identifies threats to the confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and relevant compliance of information systems.
  • Provides advice and guidance on the application and operation of all types of security controls, including legislative or regulatory requirements such as data protection and software copyright law. Contributes to development of standards and guidelines.
  • Plans and organises own work effectively. Undertakes assignments in a systematic manner.
  • Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Facilitates working groups to optimise time, effort and success for fact finding and agreement of a solution.
  • Provides advice and guidance on the application and operation of all types of security controls, including legislative or regulatory requirements such as data protection and software copyright law. Contributes to development of standards and guidelines.
  • Monitors and assesses emerging technology through threat horizon assessments.
  • Demonstrates financial awareness as a part of risk management (e.g. cost-effectiveness analysis of proposed counter measures).
  • Carries out assignments, alone or as part of a team, applying knowledge, skills, and experience. Demonstrates an understanding of the issues of interest to the client organisation and proposes viable solutions within the scope of own expertise, taking into account the needs of those affected.
  • Mentors and helps develop junior architects and consultants.
  • Recognises needs outside own area of knowledge, and how these areas relate. Requests and works effectively with additional expertise as necessary.
  • Produces high quality deliverables in terms of both content and presentation. Examples of deliverables include: solution designs, presentations and options, with reasoned arguments.
  • Maintains knowledge of current practice within area of security architecture & design as well as at least one area of technical expertise (i.e. infrastructure, cloud, virtualisation, OS, EUD etc.), including awareness of current developments.
  • Maintains breadth of knowledge across other technical areas outside own area of expertise.
  • Contributes to identifying and securing further business opportunities for the consulting practice or organisation.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of relevant international standards for information governance and the principles Embedded within them.
  • Excellent experience & knowledge of working within an architectural framework such as TOGAF or SABSA.
  • Strong understanding of national and international standards relating to Information Security/Cyber Security such as ISO, BS and NIST.

Required qualifications & Sector experience

  • Security architecture background
  • In depth Knowledge/experience with ISO27001 standard
  • CISSP
  • CCNP Security
  • Knowledge of modelling languages such as ARCHIMATE and UML
  • Technical background (i.e. from a previous ICT design/engineering role)
  • Experience working within SABSA or TOGAF architectural framework
  • Checkpoint CCSE
  • VMware VCP
  • SC Cleared or Clearable
  • TOGAF or SABSA Certified

A salary up to £72,000
