Chief of Staff to work for Capita Group PLC. Capita are one of the largest British companies in the world and due to growth and transformation, are now seeking a Chief of Staff to join their team. The role will be based in an exceptional, freshly built office in the heart of Central London.

What you'll be doing

▪ Lead interactions with key senior stakeholders across Capita to develop and agree work plans, identifying and resolving conflicts and issues as required;

▪ Provide recommendations, briefings and management information reports on the portfolio and input to the Director of Business Operations & Change Delivery, Group CIO Leadership Team, Executive Committee, Investment Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and other key senior stakeholders and governance groups as required;

▪ Create the Group CIO Portfolio Office including recruitment and management of Portfolio Office team;

Group CIO Head of Enterprise IT Portfolio Office

▪ Coordinate systems and process for Portfolio performance management, reporting, assurance, governance and risk management, ensuring these are integrated into existing organisational structures and systems;

▪ Establish clear Project Management Standards for Group CIO ensuring these are met and continually improved to promote best practice and effective project delivery in the Department;

▪ Ensure the approach to Portfolio Management in Group CIO adds value and is joined up with other strategies and plans across the company;

▪ Manage a comprehensive Group CIO Portfolio Register providing a master list of in-flight and pipeline change initiatives, brokering agreement on criteria and prioritisation;

▪ Oversee data collection, monitoring and reporting process for all project and programmes in Group CIO Portfolio, identifying new and innovative ways to provide greater Portfolio insight;

▪ Oversee planning for key decisions and develop action plans to resolve issues as required, including risk recording and management; quarterly returns, MI reporting for governance boards. Ensure plans align with any company and industry best practice;

▪ Ensure recommendations of external review relating to the Portfolio are acted upon;

▪ Provide portfolio, programme and project support to Group CIO delivery teams when required;

▪ Support Director of Business Operations & Change Delivery in developing a Project & Programme Delivery profession for Group CIO, facilitating the development of project delivery capability and capacity across GCIO and embedding of a professional career path.

What you'll bring

You will have experience of successfully leading a major Portfolio, Programme or Project Office in a large organisation, preferably supplemented with on-the-ground delivery experience. More generally, you will be able to demonstrate

▪ Experience of planning, delivering or supporting a complex, large scale Portfolio or Programme, including experience of performance management, reporting, assurance, governance and risk management;

▪ Experience in producing and maintaining portfolio/programme plans, documentation and management information for governance boards and senior management;

▪ Ability to allocate resources, plan, monitor and adapt own work and work of others in order to meet set objectives and processes in a fast-moving environment;

▪ Flexibility and responsiveness to change; a high level of initiative and ability to flex programme management techniques and practices to fit a dynamic and wide-ranging Portfolio;

▪ Experience of investigating, defining and resolving complex issues in challenging, highpressured situations with sensitivity and professionalism;

▪ Excellent communication skills -both oral and written, keen awareness of audience, able to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences;

▪ Ability to confidently engage with and managed a complex range of stakeholders, crossing team and organisational boundaries, to build trust and generate commitment to shared goals;

▪ Strong analytical skills with well-honed abilities to interpret complex data, discern trends and draw implications to support effective decision-making.

▪ Proven ability to makes decisions to maintain momentum on projects.

▪ Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

▪ PRINCE2 or otherwise suitably qualified and demonstrable experience in project leadership and use of structured delivery methods. An understanding of the other AXELOS Global Best Practices (including M_o_R, MSP and ITIL) would be beneficial given the close alignment to the corporate project delivery approach.

▪ Ability to demonstrate financial control over projects.

▪ Prepared to travel to various locations in the UK on occasion.
