Business Development/Sales Manager - London

Capita are on the market looking for an experienced and dynamic Internal Business Development Manager (BDM) who will report to and working alongside the practice director.

The role as internal business development manager (BDM), will be to manage and grow internal new business for the Novus IT skills programme and you will be expected to manage existing internal Capita accounts and identify new internal prospects and at the same time developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with different stakeholders ensuring tailor made solutions are delivered. You will be expected to work with internal mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff to support the business strategy and your responsibilities will fall into the following: business proposal draft and investigation, business strategy management, internal co-ordination, client facing support, data analysis and reports writing. You will be responsible for investigating the market, dealing with business plans, analysing clients' requirements, liaising with senior staff, recruiting and training junior sales consultants and/or other positions which would impact future business development. This role is to deliver internal business development opportunities. Any external opportunities will be passed to the external business development teams.

Essential:

  • You will have come from a strong sales background (recruitment or IT sales account management as some examples) and will in turn have a confident approach to business development and able to display that you are adept at dealing with a diverse portfolio of clients internally to Capita.
  • Core competencies will include excellent written and verbal communication skills, a very high level of computer literacy & accuracy, the ability to build lasting relationships and deliver exceptional customer service and a results-driven approach.
  • You have a proven track record of technology consultative selling, evidence of delivering consistent new business and growing existing, and be able to demonstrate effective selling and presentation techniques to influence the end customer.
  • Strong market research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and being proactive in identifying new business opportunities
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of our service offerings, technical preferences, and technical direction.
