Business Development Manager - London

Capita are working with one of the UK's leading rewards organisations to drive new customer acquisition, retain customers and increase spend. Our client has been offering businesses across the UK unique membership schemes to engage, retain and reward their customers and employees for over 30 years, and due to continued success and growth, they are looking to add an experienced Business Development Manager to their ranks.

Role Responsibilities:
Identify new sales leads, to pitch memberships and services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with any new contacts you bring into the business. Maintaining good relationships with customers.When it comes to generating leads, day-to-day duties typically include:

  • Researching organisations and individuals to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company's products
  • Developing quotes and proposals
  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
  • To work with the Head of Sales and Trade Marketing Manager to develop sales strategies for target markets goals for the team and ensuring they are met

Essential skills:

  • We need a sales person who is experienced, self-motivated, and able to deliver clear objectives.
  • They must have the skills to communicate effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • It is key that they are socially adept so they can go from simple chats on the phone to lunches and events or conferences.
  • Have the ability to be the face of the business at key events
  • Good with numbers
  • Able to provide quality leadership - even though this role has no direct report, this person must work collaboratively with the Head of Sales and eventually be the catalyst to grow the team.
  • Strong communication and IT fluency
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
