Azure Platform Engineer - London/Leeds - £550pd

The Platform Engineer will manage the transformation which comes with Platform Services and Cloud Native adoption, seamlessly integrating enterprise-grade, cloud tooling to power continuous integration and delivery pipelines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Involved in shaping the platform of the company and accelerating business product delivery
  • Build tools and infrastructure to improve the productivity of colleagues
  • Continuously improve the scalability, resilience and availability of shared platforms
  • Design and develop new and innovative products, as well as techniques that can be used to improve infrastructure and platforms

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support Azure and on prem operations, projects & change processes.
  • Provide out of hours support on a rota basis.

Essential Job Skills & Knowledge


  • Product & Customer focused
  • Azure Cloud Platform Services such as Application Service Environments, Service Fabric, Traffic Managers, Load Balancers, Key Vaults, Azure SQL, Storage, HA, DNS and supporting infrastructure
  • ARM Templates, Runbooks, Powershell
  • Knows and can talk about Pipelines for delivery
  • Monitoring large systems using technologies such as Application Insights and Log Analytics
  • Agile Scrum team and the tooling that supports it (e.g. Atlassian Stack, VSTS)
  • Solid understanding of networking, DNS, Digital Certificates, Authentication and Authorisation
  • Of course be adept in diagnosing and troubleshooting infrastructure and applications
