Senior Application Support Analyst

Capita IT Resourcing are looking for a Senior Application Support Analyst to join a leading Healthcare software provider who are based in Uxbridge. The Senior Application Support Analyst will mentor Application teams, review and resolve incidents raised by customers and maintain healthcare regulations, working practices, products and technologies.


  • Understand, follow and develop with customer and company procedures.
  • Be involved with the development of product Software
  • Understand the core functionality of each product and that of general disciplines within the healthcare arena.
  • Be involved in the Service Management shifts as required
  • Understand the service of the company
  • To develop and maintain rapport with end users by displaying a detailed understanding of their IT environment and Pathology issues/pressures.
  • Establish and maintain high levels of incident ownership - resolving, progressing and managing all incidents to a satisfactory conclusion on the incident management system, ensuring that appropriate parties (including the incident raisers) are kept up to date on incident progress.
  • To establish a quality working relationship with end users and solve their problems in a timely fashion by using and developing diagnosis, analytical, problem solving, discipline specific and technical skills to achieve Service Levels.
  • Support the Application Support teams for mentoring and development of diagnosis, analytical, problem solving, discipline specific and technical skills to achieve required service levels.
  • Understand and operate the escalation procedure
  • Maintain and update all documentation issued to you by the company
  • Support the development of internal systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Supporting of software applications (NOT DESKTOP)
  • SQL Experience
  • Demonstrable understanding or interest in IT
  • Strong motivational skills - can deliver the tasks in difficult circumstances
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organisational levels

Desirable Skills:

  • Microsoft Technology Associate, Microsoft Senior Technology Associate or Microsoft Certified Software Engineer qualifications (or equivalent) or efforts towards such qualifications.
