Our client is looking for an Application and Deskside Support Analyst to join their business and support the core business systems. The Application Support Analyst will be a central point of contact for internal and external users that are experiencing difficulties with the technology. This will be both software and hardware related.

Role responsibilities:

  • Support, administer and maintain all systems, ensure 100% availability and operational as per IT operations plans as agreed with the business.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with ITIL practices for Service Delivery, Incident and Problem management.
  • Liaise with relevant internal/external parties, service providers and suppliers.
  • Act as contact point for users with incidents related to systems and services. Provide relevant feedback and updates on issues
  • Only make system changes as instructed as part of approved change request process.
  • Ensure all incidents and requests are logged on Service Now, with appropriate details so that they can be progressed.
  • Escalate up to specific support team any issues that cannot be resolved via the agreed process or escalate to relevant system experts.
  • Review change requests as they are submitted and action where appropriate; or where necessary refer to others within IT to review or progress.
  • Provide training on systems for new staff or users as required.
  • Actively participate in system and UAT testing, as required.
  • Prepare for and participate in formal appraisals which are delivered in line with current appraisal frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance to IT controls in all activities undertaken and be prepared to review constructively work undertaken by other staff members.

Experience:

  • Up to 2 years experience as a Support Analyst
  • Good formal and informal communications ability both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Good appreciation of the wider field of IT.
