The role
The Alliances Manager is responsible for managing the Alliances portfolio from both a resell and proposition development perspective, to generate new business for the business.

Working closely with the Marketing & Alliances Director, Head of Marketing, Practice Leads, Services Consultants and Sales Leads and Sales teams, the Alliances Manager will support with proposition development and taking any initiatives to market via a team of direct reports (Partner Executives).

Representing the identified external stakeholders/ Partners, the Alliances Manager will be tasked with leveraging relationships for improved commercials, market share growth in target sectors and beneficial relationships across the business units for competitive advantage.

The Alliances Manager will need to:

  • Support the Marketing & Alliances Director to create a managed Vendor portfolio that aligns with the business strategy and technology needs of a diverse and evolving customer base.
  • Work with Marketing and aligned Practice Leads on campaign propositions that differentiate our business; plugging in Alliances management where applicable.
  • Ensure focus is maintained on aligned managed vendors portfolio stack to drive deeper relationships across the business to secure growth and drive new revenue streams.
  • Support in a virtual team type capacity within your aligned practices to support proposition messaging and enable the business to sell, deliver and support Vendor products that align with the wider business strategy e.g. to drive Services growth.
  • Contribute to, and support the execution of the company's GTM initiatives through managing a team of direct reports who will implement, run, measure and report on all campaigns; off-setting expenditure through Vendor Income.

Person Specification
You must be able to demonstrate that you possess:

  • Excellent understanding of public and private market sectors, market trends, and the competitive landscape;
  • Good understanding of Channel sales processes and the role of a reseller;
  • An understanding of IT in general, networks, and business critical systems;
  • Experience in a similar role within the IT product/services industry.
  • An understanding of Channel investment, ROI methodology and the ability of the reseller to effect positive or negative change in terms of partner performance.
  • A detailed understanding of the company's goals and commercial strategies in particular.
  • Knowledge of communications methodologies and an understanding of when/how to use different tools and approaches.
  • An understanding of how to coordinate and implement integrated sales & marketing campaigns from inception through to fruition which have resulted in demonstrable revenue and/or GM growth.
  • Knowledge of how to analyse campaign effectiveness and make recommendations for future improvement
  • A good working knowledge of our product and service offerings
  • A broad understanding of our company's goals
  • General understanding of the IT landscape

The Alliances team is a critical part of the business and is fast-paced, working within a constantly changing environment. The individual performing this role must be able to:

  • Manage and drive the team forward to be pro-active in their approach to all parts of the business
  • Interpret key performance indicators and possess the ability to forecast accurately.
  • Be numbers-driven, supported by timely measurements of performance.
  • Quickly build and leverage working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority within the business and its network of vendor and supplier partners.
  • Manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities effectively to deliver against your commercial and non-commercial goals, including managing time and resources effectively.
  • Demonstrate experience in carrying out research, particularly in relation to Vendor business strategy development
  • Write clear, concise business English in all written correspondence, and create concise, accurate and engaging presentations.
